01.18.10 Team Sky, first is good
 |
Team Sky’s first official outing and start to the season couldn’t have got any better. Dave Brailsfords boys marked a double victory in their debut race at the Cancer Council Helpline Classic in Adelaide, Australia: Greg Henderson and Chris Sutton taking out both first and second place honours
“It is fantastic, gaining a victory together during our first race, it’s incredible” – declared Henderson after crossing the finish line. – “We had spoken beforehand, that a victory would be the best way in order to start the season”
At this point, Henderson is one of the race favourites for winning the Tour Down Under, after having demonstrated his optimal form - “the main objective is overall classification, but we will take each day at a time”
The New Zealander sprinter, who began his cycling career on the track then moving over to road racing, had commented on his team’s strength and in particular the great spirit which developed amidst its members from the very first days of training. The first two days of the Tour Down Under, which mark the official start to the 2010 Pro Tour season, are the best for making first impressions on a team who everyone will be keeping their eyes on.
