Stage 9ª - 16 May 2005 FIRENZE
Sprinting home for his first win of the 2005 Giro d'Italia on his Pinarello Dogma FP, Ale-Jet lit the afterburners in Ravenna to triumph cleanly after a difficult start to this years Giro. "I got down a bit, but our team stayed focused and we were able to win today. It's great", Petacchi said proudly after Stage 9. 88th Giro d'Italia Monday, May 16: Stage 9: Firenze-Ravenna / 139 km 1. Stage 12ª - 20 May 2005 ROVERETO
After breaking the ice in Ravenna , and having lost by just a few millimetres in Rossano Veneto , Alessandro Petacchi obtained his second win in this Giro d'Italia. In Rovereto, finish line of the twelfth stage, Ale-Jet optimised on the excellent work of the Fassa Bortolo train (despite very strong headwinds), easily passing Paride Grillo and Galvez. This is the 17 th pink win for the LaSpezia sprinter (the first was in Lecce in 2003) and his 97 th as a professional.

Stage 15ª - 23 May 2005 LISSONE
Alessandro Petacchi easily regains control: Ale-Jet achieves a triple win at the Giro, with a perfect sprint in the fifteenth stage, 153 km from Madonna di Tirano to Lissone. Everything worked in favour of the Fassa sprinter: few sprinters survived the Dolomites and the stage was entirely flat, given the annulment of the first 50 km due to bad weather.

Stage 20ª - 29 May 2005 MILAN
With a decisive sprint by Alessandro Petacchi, the 88th Giro d'Italia has come to an end. At the Milan finish line Ale-Jet takes his fourth stage victory of the race, the 21st of the season and the 99th of his career. A final was classic with the La Spezia sprinters' domination over Zabel and Forster after a 120 km race and twelve times around the 4.8 km circuit in the heart of the Lombardy city.
