With a blinding sprint finish on her Pinarello Dogma, Aki-Safi womans team rider Rochelle Gilmore rode to the biggest won of her career in Geelong, Australia to win the Geelong Womans UCI World Cup race, beating '04 World Cup winner Oenone Wood.
Post-race, Gilmore explained that "I can just concentrate on the road now; I'm heading to Italy straight after World Cup #2 in New Zealand, to race with Safi, the team I rode with in 2003. I'm looking forward to teaming up with Nicole Cooke and taking on the world again."
